Unveiling Ceremony, Energetic Start to the New Semester
Founded in 1978 as Dongju Women's Junior College
Busan Health University (President Jeong Hak-yeong) has launched under its new name.
Based on 45 years of history and tradition, Busan Health University held a plaque unveiling ceremony at 10 a.m. on the first day of the semester, the 2nd, with about 50 faculty members gathered at the main entrance of the university. It started in 1978 as Dongju Women's Junior College and changed its name to Busan Health University, holding the plaque ceremony on this day.

View original imageJeong Gil-yeong, chairman of Seokpa Academy Foundation, said, “We place special meaning on the plaque unveiling ceremony to vigorously open the next 50 years of the future,” adding, “We are drawing a new blueprint to establish a university-affiliated nursing hospital while working with the local community by leveraging the characteristics of a health university, and we will do our best to support becoming a university needed by the local community.”
On the same day, coinciding with the start of the 2023 academic year, the Saha-gu No. 1 village bus also began operating on a route that passes through the campus.
Busan Health University plans to participate in the LINC 3.0 demand-customized growth project, providing practical education suitable for the future era and establishing and operating the Industry-Corporate Collaboration Center (ICC).
It also intends to strengthen the sustainability of sharing and collaboration based on the industry-academia-research platform. It operates Wellness ICC, Beauty Care ICC, and Glocal ICC to create corporate value.
Through joint industry-academia-research technology projects, it is also executing projects to develop on-the-job training and business models.

Busan Health University, which has positioned itself as a prestigious employment university in western Busan, was selected for the LINC 3.0 project and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Support Project, receiving 9 billion won in support over three years.
