They then visited the Celadon Festival site to enjoy the Celadon Festival, which featured various activities such as celadon making, foot bath experiences, fire camp, and stress relief FU-SO center.
A participant who experienced FU-SO as a high school student and returned to Gangjin as a university student said, “Returning to Gangjin with friends, where warm affection and unique memories remain, feels like going back to my high school days,” adding, “I have grown to love Gangjin even more, as it feels cozy and warm like my maternal grandparents’ home.”
This event, organized to embody the purpose of the FU-SO experience, which means “returning because you cannot forget the affection,” evoked fond memories of joyful school days and received great responses from participants.
The county plans to expand the Remind FU-SO event in connection with various events such as the Reed Festival held in autumn.
Gangjin County Governor Kang Jin-won said, “Neither grand facilities nor beautiful scenery can surpass the affection between people,” and added, “I am grateful to meet again with everyone who has formed precious memories and connections. I hope you visit again anytime with your loved ones and family.”
The FU-SO experience, which started in 2015 targeting students, was praised for opening a new horizon for school trips and attracted attention.
Since then, it has expanded into various programs such as for public officials, general public, one-week living experiences, and city tours, becoming a representative tourism success product of Gangjin-gun.
As of the end of last year, more than 50,000 people have participated in the FU-SO experience, and the direct income for farmhouses reached approximately 4.4 billion won.
