On the 28th, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, concluded his first city and county tour since taking office, titled 'Dialogue with Residents,' by meeting with citizens of Changwon Special City.

On this day, Governor Park, along with Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, listened to suggestions and proposals related to provincial administration from about 300 Changwon citizens and relevant officials at the Citizen Hall of Changwon City Hall and shared his thoughts.

He said, “Changwon accounts for about one-third of Gyeongnam's population but holds nearly half of the industrial influence, so I believe Changwon's development is Gyeongnam's development. As Changwon National Industrial Complex and the city itself mark their 50th anniversary next year, we must create a grand plan for a new leap forward and the next 50 years of the industrial complex's future.”
He continued, “Through adjustments to the development restriction zones, nuclear power plants and defense industries have been established, and we are steadily preparing for the designation of Masan Free Export Zone as a national industrial complex, the construction of Jinhae New Port and its hinterland complex, the promotion of the Dongdaegu-Changwon-New Airport high-speed railway, and the operation of the Suseo-origin SRT.”
He emphasized, “Changwon is leading in various fields such as hydrogen and defense industries, and Gyeongnam will create opportunities through new industries.”

On this day, Changwon City requested additional provincial funding for the construction of the Democracy Hall to be built in the 3·15 Haeyang Nuri Park in Masanhappo-gu and subsidies for attracting container cargo to Masan Port.
They also requested provincial cooperation for attracting national industrial complexes related to defense and nuclear power, lifting development restrictions, establishing a medical school, constructing Jinhae New Port, and developing the port hinterland complex.
The province responded that it would carefully review and analyze these requests with Changwon City to find efficient solutions and decide on support directions and scales.
Following this, Changwon citizens presented various opinions including ▲ installation of trams linked to tourist sites ▲ designation of Masan Free Export Zone as a national industrial complex ▲ expansion of hydrogen industry support ▲ support for attracting space launch vehicle forging and assembly facilities ▲ expansion of roads and sports facilities in the Buk-myeon area.
