Seoul National University Regular Admission, Minimal Impact from Curriculum Evaluation Introduction... "CSAT Remains the Primary Criterion"
Analysis shows that the influence of the 'Curriculum Evaluation' introduced by Seoul National University (SNU) in the 2023 regular admissions was not significant.
According to Jinhaksa on the 28th, an analysis of the admission results of 2,354 applicants who used their score disclosure service in SNU's 2023 regular admissions revealed that only 33 applicants, or 1.4%, had their admission outcomes changed due to the curriculum evaluation.
Jinhaksa explained that a total of 4,282 applicants applied for SNU's regular admissions, and considering that more than half of the applicants used their website, they analyzed this trend accordingly.
In the case of the regional balance track, 6 out of 317 score disclosure service users (across 3 departments) had their admission results influenced by the curriculum evaluation, while in the general track, 27 out of 2,037 applicants (across 20 departments) were affected.
Starting from the 2023 regular admissions, SNU reflects the curriculum evaluation based on school records at a rate of 40% for the regional balance track and 20% in the second stage for the general track. Although the curriculum evaluation ratio is not low, the actual scores and influence reflected in admissions were not as significant compared to the CSAT scores.
