Hyundai Motor Company and Korea Transportation Safety Authority Sign Agreement to Establish Electric Vehicle Driving Culture
Hyundai Motor Company is preparing a driving education program that provides practical assistance to electric vehicle drivers in collaboration with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
On the 28th, Hyundai Motor held a ceremony at the Autoway Tower (located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority for the "Establishment of a Proper Electric Vehicle Driving Culture." Key officials including Woo Won-ha, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor's Domestic Business Division, and Jang Chan-ok, Director of the Traffic Safety Headquarters at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, attended the event.
Through this MOU, Hyundai Motor and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority will develop a systematic, customized experiential education program for electric vehicles. The program aims to provide drivers with practical information regarding electric vehicle driving.
Hyundai Motor and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority plan to establish and operate related education programs so that drivers can understand the unique characteristics of electric vehicles, which differ from internal combustion engine vehicles, and obtain useful information in terms of operation and management.
To this end, Hyundai Motor will be responsible for ▲providing electric vehicles for safe driving experiential education ▲conducting electric vehicle education for professors at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority ▲providing various materials to improve the electric vehicle safe driving experiential education program.
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority will be responsible for ▲organizing theoretical and comparative practical experiential programs between electric vehicles and internal combustion engines and opening regular courses on its website ▲conducting education on safe operation and management of electric vehicles ▲serving as instructors for practical training and engaging in safety accident prevention activities ▲managing education programs and vehicle aftercare.
Hyundai Motor and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority will first conduct pilot education for some Hyundai electric vehicle clubs in the first half of this year. Based on this, a regular curriculum will be established next year, allowing anyone with a driver's license to apply.
