Sejong Public Meal Service Operates 'Directly Managed Vehicles'... "Reducing Delivery Costs"
Sejong City is starting the operation of directly managed vehicles for public meal service. The directly managed vehicles were introduced to reduce delivery costs and ensure stable delivery of food ingredients.
The city announced on the 28th that it held a launch ceremony for the directly managed delivery vehicle team at the parking lot of the Public Meal Support Center.
Until now, the Public Meal Support Center has operated all 70 refrigerated and frozen vehicles through contracts with service companies since its opening.
However, considering the recent increase in delivery service costs and the expansion of delivery demand, it was decided last year to operate 40 delivery vehicles directly (through a lease method).
Accordingly, Sejong Local Food Co., Ltd. publicly recruited delivery team members targeting Sejong citizens from December last year, and after document screening and interviews, finally selected 40 people. Their average age is 55.3 years, and 24 of them have delivery experience.
Along with the selection of delivery team members, the city also received all 40 delivery vehicles, completed wrapping work, and inspected for any vehicle abnormalities.
