Geochang-gun Announces Public Recruitment for Cremation Facility Construction Sites
Resolving Resident Conflicts in Advance
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is publicly recruiting candidate sites for the construction of a crematorium for 60 days from March 27 to April 27 in order to resolve resident conflicts in advance due to the trend of changing funeral culture.
For this candidate site recruitment, a promotion committee will be formed in the relevant eup and myeon areas, and the representative will submit an application for attraction to the Strategic Officer of the county office through the eup and myeon. The "Geochang-gun Cremation Facility Installation Promotion Committee" plans to select the project site through screening.
The project scale will be a site area of more than 15,000㎡, and the building will be designed as an aesthetically pleasing structure through a design competition. Major facilities will include three cremators, a management office, a waiting room for bereaved families, a lounge, and a parking lot.

Geochang-gun plans to provide incentives to the area where the cremation facility is built, including resident support and regional development projects within 5 billion KRW within 10 years after completion through support ordinances and detailed agreements, distribution of profits within 10% of the crematorium’s annual income, granting operation rights of auxiliary facilities, job provision, and exemption from crematorium usage fees.
