13,733 Candidates Took the First CPA Exam... Competition Ratio 5.3 to 1
4.6% Increase Compared to Last Year... Passers Announced on April 7
The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 27th that a total of 13,733 candidates took the 58th Certified Public Accountant (CPA) first exam held on the 26th, an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous year. The attendance rate was 86.2% compared to the number of applicants (15,940), up 1.1 percentage points from the previous year.
With the expected number of successful candidates (about 2,600) increasing by 400 from the previous year, the competition ratio dropped to about 5.3 to 1, down from 6.0 to 1 the previous year.
Thirteen COVID-19 positive candidates took the exam at a separately prepared testing site.

The provisional answer key for this exam was posted on the Financial Supervisory Service CPA exam website on the 26th, and after receiving objections to the provisional answers, finalizing the answers, and grading, the successful candidates will be announced on April 7.
