On the 1st anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, on the 24th (local time), the United States announced additional sanctions against Russia and others, as well as plans for additional support to Ukraine.
The White House released a statement containing these details on its website that day.
The statement included sanctions such as export controls on Russian and third-country companies violating sanctions against Russia, and tariff increases on Russian metals, minerals, and chemicals.
The White House stated that about 90 companies are subject to export controls and other sanctions, including Chinese companies.
The announcement also included plans to provide an additional $2 billion (2.6 trillion won) worth of weapons to Ukraine, which is preparing for a spring offensive this year.
However, the F-16 fighter jets, which Ukraine has persistently requested, were not included in the aid package.
