Strengthening Quarantine Support for Hanwoo Exports to Find Export Opportunities
Meeting to Promote Export of Livestock and Aquatic Products
On the 24th, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency held a 'Live Animal and Livestock Product Export Promotion Meeting' at Taeu Green Food located in Majang-dong, Seoul, to expand beef exports, and announced it on the 26th.
The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Animal Disease Management Department of the Quarantine Agency, with about 40 government and private beef export stakeholders attending, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Hanwoo Board, and export companies.
The Quarantine Agency shared the 2023 live animal and livestock product export promotion support directions with export stakeholders and discussed export quarantine systems, difficulties faced by exporters, and regulatory relaxation measures.
Additionally, to expand beef export countries this year, the agency plans to actively support the designation and operation of quarantine officers for major export items such as beef, provide real-time export information by country and item, and respond to on-site inspections.

Lee Myung-heon, Director of the Animal Disease Management Department at the Quarantine Agency, stated, "We plan to continuously expand export promotion meetings not only for Hanwoo but also for other items. We will strengthen quarantine support to resolve difficulties in the export field and improve systems to expand livestock product exports."
