Busan Gijang-gun Conducts Practical Training on Press Release Writing
On the 23rd, Gijang-gun, Busan, conducted practical training on the importance of policy promotion awareness and press release writing for public officials affiliated with Gijang-gun to realize a government that communicates and empathizes with its residents.
Previously, a policy demand survey conducted from October to November 2022 targeting residents revealed that policy promotion was insufficient.
Accordingly, Gijang-gun improved the awareness among employees that the success of policies depends on promotion to gain communication and empathy from residents, and conducted practical training on press release writing for more accurate and proper policy promotion.
The training content included ▲definition of policy promotion and importance of media promotion ▲introduction to types of media articles ▲local government news that media outlets pay attention to ▲major cases of media promotion of local government policies and projects ▲how to write press releases when feeling stuck ▲refining press releases before distribution.
Jung Jong-bok, the county governor, emphasized, “The beginning and end of county administration is promotion, and half of a policy is design while the other half is promotion. As the saying goes, timing is everything in promotion, and in carrying out all county administration, promotion plays a very important role to always communicate and empathize with residents rather than proceeding in a one-way manner.”
