Unhae Scholarship Foundation Awards 1.7 Billion KRW in Scholarships to 213 Recipients

On the 24th, Choi Pyeong-gyu, Chairman of the Unhae Scholarship Foundation, said this at the 10th Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony.
According to the foundation, the Unhae Scholarship Foundation was established in 2013 by Choi Pyeong-gyu, Chairman of SNT Group, with a total scale of 30 billion KRW, including 10 billion KRW of private funds, to nurture talent in science and technology.
Every year, scholarships have been awarded to outstanding university students in science and engineering fields, and over the past 10 years, 788 students have received scholarships.
As of 2023, the foundation's assets have expanded to approximately 70 billion KRW through additional contributions.

The scholarship certificate award ceremony, held face-to-face for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic, took place at the Grand Mercure Ambassador Changwon in Changwon, Gyeongnam on this day.
About 250 people attended the ceremony, including Chairman Choi Pyeong-gyu, foundation officials, the 10th Unhae scholarship recipients, and Lee Ho-young, President of Changwon National University.
The 10th Unhae scholarship recipients numbered 213, each receiving 8 million KRW, totaling over 1.7 billion KRW in scholarships.

Chairman Choi said, "Within the youth flows the blood of great Koreans, respected for having created history with a fateful will to challenge," adding, "I urge you to enjoy the harsh challenges like winter by roaming the rough wilderness with the spirit of Koreans who fearlessly pursue their goals with earnestness."
Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, conveyed through a video congratulatory message, "I hope all students who received the scholarship certificates will boldly challenge the future and grow into warm-hearted members of society," and added, "Gyeongsangnam-do will do its best to support young people in achieving their dreams."

President Lee said, "The Unhae Scholarship Foundation has greatly contributed to nurturing creative and challenging future science and technology talents and serves as a model for regional scholarship projects," and "Changwon National University will also devote all efforts to working with the foundation to foster local talent."
