Fire at Apartment in Jinhae-gu, Changwon... 5 Foreign Workers Sustain Minor to Moderate Injuries
At around 5:54 a.m. on the 24th, a fire broke out in an apartment in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, injuring five foreign workers and causing about 70 residents to evacuate.
According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters, a security guard patrolling the apartment reported to 119 after seeing flames and smoke coming from a fourth-floor unit used as a dormitory for foreign workers from company A.

When the fire broke out, three of the five workers evacuated to the third floor through a window, but two who were trapped inside were rescued by firefighters who arrived on the scene.
At the site, 23 vehicles including fire pump trucks, water tanks, rescue vehicles, and ambulances were deployed, with 48 firefighters and 10 police officers mobilized.
The fire was completely extinguished at around 6:12 a.m. that day, but the five workers were given emergency treatment for burns and respiratory difficulties and were transported to the hospital.
The fire caused damage to the interior of the building, household goods, and daily necessities, with the fire department estimating property damage worth approximately 45 million won.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire through witness testimonies and on-site inspections.
