Went to Cover Shooting Scene... Even American Journalists Killed
Three Dead in Florida Serial Shooting
Three people died in a series of shootings in Florida, USA. It is also reported that a journalist covering the first shooting was among the victims.
According to foreign media including the AP News on the 22nd (local time), a woman in her 20s was shot and killed around 11 a.m. in the Pine Hills area northwest of Orlando, Florida. The woman was reportedly shot and killed by a suspect who was in the same vehicle.
Later that day, around 4 p.m., a reporter and a photographer from a cable news program arrived near the scene to cover the incident. At that time, the suspect returned to the scene and opened fire on them. The reporter preparing the coverage was killed in the second shooting, and the photographer was injured.
The suspect then walked into a nearby house and continued shooting. The gunfire was directed at a mother and daughter inside the house, resulting in the death of the 9-year-old daughter. The shooter was subsequently arrested at the scene.
The police identified the shooter as 19-year-old Keith Melvin Mozingo, who is currently charged with murder in connection with the first incident. Additional charges are expected to be filed regarding the second and third shootings.
The specific motive for the crime has not yet been confirmed. However, AP News reported that Mozingo was acquainted with the woman who died initially. Local police also stated that Mozingo had a criminal record including offenses related to firearms, assault, and theft.

John Mina, Orange County Sheriff, said, "The suspect is currently not saying much," and added, "It is unclear whether he knew that the victims of the second incident were members of the press." It is also still unclear why Mozingo entered the nearby house, the location of the third crime.
Meanwhile, in the United States, shootings have occurred consecutively in places such as California and Washington DC during January and February of this year. Earlier this month, U.S. President Joe Biden invited a citizen who prevented further crimes by the suspect in Monterey Park, California, to his State of the Union address and called for a ban on assault weapons.
