Hwang Dalseong Re-elected as President of the Korean Gallery Association... 'Won by 1 Vote'

On the 23rd, at the 21st President election of the Gallery Association held at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, President Hwang was elected by a one-vote margin over Doh Hyungtae (54), CEO of Gallery Hyundai.
More than 150 gallery representatives, the highest number ever, attended the event, and the voting result was tallied as 69 to 68. The term of the Gallery Association president is two years, and it is an unpaid honorary position.
President Hwang graduated from Korea University and has been operating Geumsan Gallery since 1992. He has served as the International Director and Public Relations Director of the Korea Gallery Association, as well as the Secretary General of the Korea International Art Fair (KIAF).
President Hwang said, "The domestic art market is currently at a very important stage," adding, "We will hold the second Gallery Art Festival, and KIAF will also expand overseas within this year."

The Korea Gallery Association is an organization with about 160 domestic galleries as members, hosting events such as the Gallery Art Festival and KIAF, and operating an art appraisal committee. Since last year, the association has been co-hosting the world-renowned art fair 'Frieze' along with KIAF, working to expand the domestic art market.
