Suwon City Accepts Applications for Military Noise Damage Compensation Until the 28th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for military noise damage compensation until the 28th of this month.
On the 22nd, Suwon City announced that it will accept applications for military noise damage compensation at the respective dong administrative welfare centers, Seodun-dong Community Center (Seohu Senior Citizens' Center), Citizen Tower Farm, and Beolteo Sports and Culture Center until the end of this month.
This year's compensation recipients are residents (including foreigners) registered in the noise control areas designated by the Ministry of National Defense who lived there from January 1 to December 31 of last year, as well as residents who were eligible for compensation last year but did not apply.
Suwon City will pay the compensation after deliberation by the 'Local Noise Control Committee.'
According to the compensation details, the payment varies by noise level: Type 1 (95 WECL or higher) receives 60,000 KRW per month, Type 2 (90?95 WECL) receives 45,000 KRW per month, and Type 3 (85?90 WECL) receives 30,000 KRW per month.
The payment amount may vary depending on conditions such as the date of moving in and the location of the workplace.

A city official said, "Military noise damage compensation, which has been promoted since 2022, is paid annually through applications," and urged, "All citizens within the noise control areas should apply for compensation by February 28."
