The Emergency Vehicle Priority Signal System operates based on an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) utilizing LTE (4th generation) mobile communication technology. Vehicles equipped with dedicated terminals connected to the Yongin Advanced Traffic Center activate green lights when passing through intersections. Since the trial operation of this system in July last year, the on-site arrival time has been reduced by approximately 40% compared to before.
By the 23rd, an inspection team composed of city officials and Yongin Fire Station personnel will visit 12 fire stations to check the operation of the terminals attached to the vehicles. Training on terminal usage and collection of improvement feedback from users will also be conducted.
To ensure smooth on-site inspections, a meeting was held on the 6th at the Advanced Traffic Center with Yongin Fire Station officials to discuss improvements for system advancement.
