"Please Create a Name for the New Disaster Response Drill"
Ministry of the Interior and Safety Launches Public Proposal Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 16th that it plans to conduct new disaster response drills starting this year by identifying unprecedented and complex types of disasters in advance, and will hold a public contest for naming the new drills from tomorrow until the 10th of next month.
The government has been conducting the "Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill" annually since 2005 to strengthen national disaster response capabilities against frequently occurring disasters such as fires, wildfires, and typhoons.
Anyone interested in creating a safer Korea can participate in this contest by briefly describing the anticipated new types of disasters, their expectations from the government, and suggestions for the new drill's name, then submitting them online.
Submitted public proposals will be reviewed by private experts in the disaster and safety management field to finalize the name of the new drill.
