Seoul City Strengthens Customized Tap Water Inspection Service
Significant Expansion of the 'Arisu Quality Verification System'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 13th that it will significantly strengthen the Arisu Quality Verification Service. The inspection scale has been greatly expanded from 115,000 locations last year to 182,000 locations this year.
In particular, this year, water quality inspections will be expanded not only to individual households but also to multi-residential facilities where many people live, such as apartment complexes, daycare centers, and senior leisure facilities, and to enhance convenience for citizens, inspections will be conducted at night and on holidays for dual-income or single-person households who are away during weekday daytime hours.
The city announced that to this end, the number of Arisu coordinators, which was 74 last year, will be increased to 160 this year, and participants will be recruited. As of the recruitment announcement date, any citizen aged 18 or older who is registered in the resident registry within the jurisdiction of the Waterworks Office can apply to the respective office. The application period is three days until the 15th.
Through the strengthening of the quality verification system, it is expected to alleviate the vague anxieties citizens have due to aging pipelines and increase trust in Arisu.
