Gwanak-gu, 2023 Gender Equality Fund Public Project Promotion
Nonprofit corporations or organizations located in Gwanak-gu that promote gender equality culture and enhance women's welfare are eligible to apply.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting organizations to participate in the '2023 Gender Equality Fund Public Project' to promote gender equality culture, expand women's social participation, and develop their capabilities.
Last year, the district supported various projects to spread gender equality culture, such as 'Translation Certification Acquisition' for marriage immigrant women, 'Flower Tea and Rice Cake Making Education' for women with disabilities, and 'Short-term Shelter Support' for female victims of violence.
This year, the district plans to discover various projects through the public contest and invest a total budget of 30 million KRW, supporting up to 5 million KRW per project.
The contest fields are divided into open competition and designated competition. The open competition includes five areas (▲Gender-equal city created together ▲Safe city enjoyed together ▲Economically vibrant city working together ▲Women’s participation city growing together ▲Family-friendly city caring together), and the designated competition has one area (▲Women-friendly village creation project) to choose from.
Eligibility to apply is limited to nonprofit corporations or nonprofit private organizations located in Gwanak-gu that work to spread and promote gender equality culture and protect women's human rights.
The application period is until February 17, and interested corporations or organizations can submit the application form via email or visit the Women's and Family Division on the 3rd floor of Gwanak-gu Office for in-person submission.
The final selection results will be announced on February 28 on the Gwanak-gu website and notified individually after review by the Gender Equality Committee, considering contributions to women's rights and welfare promotion, project feasibility and effectiveness, budget appropriateness, and recent activity performance of the organizations.

A district official said, "We will actively support the Gender Equality Fund public project to spread a culture of gender equality," adding, "We expect excellent and diverse projects to be discovered through the active participation of capable institutions this year as well."

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it secured a total of 12.4 billion KRW in external funding by receiving excellent evaluations in 2022 external agency assessments and public projects.
The district showed outstanding performance across 50 categories in external agency evaluations in fields such as administration, welfare, education, safety, and environment, and was selected for 103 public projects, securing 12.4 billion KRW, achieving good results in a total of 153 fields.
Major achievements in external agency evaluations include ▲2022 National Local Government Job Award Grand Prize ▲2022 Community Welfare Project Evaluation with awards for Visiting Health and Welfare Services, Integrated Care Services, and Job Creation sectors ▲Seoul Disaster Safety Evaluation recognized as an excellent district in three areas (Intensive Safety Inspection, Disaster Response Safety Korea Training, Integrated Support Headquarters) ▲2022 Joint Local Government Evaluation with the highest grade in autonomous district evaluation.
In particular, Eunpyeong was recognized for its excellent administrative capabilities by receiving the Prime Minister's Award with the highest score nationwide in the district category of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2021 Local Government Innovation Evaluation.'
Additionally, the district was selected as an excellent autonomous district in the National Library Operation Evaluation (Prime Minister's Award), Seoul Traffic Demand Management Evaluation, 2022 Comprehensive Information Disclosure Evaluation (Excellence Award), and Food Hygiene Comprehensive Evaluation.

The secured budget will be used to promote projects for residents' convenience and regional development.
