[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Coast Guard and Navy are searching for 9 missing persons from the capsized fishing vessel 'Cheongboho' in the waters west of Daebichi Island, Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do. Meanwhile, a crane ship has departed from Amtaedo, Sinan-gun, heading to the accident site.
The crane ship (tugboat 1200 horsepower, barge 4200p, crane 180t) departed from Amtaedo, Sinan-gun around 2 PM and is expected to arrive at the accident site around 5 PM.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, “Even after the crane ship arrives, it is unlikely that salvage operations will begin immediately due to darkness. Even with rapid preliminary work, it is highly probable that the situation will not be resolved until tomorrow afternoon.”

The 24-ton Incheon-registered trap fishing vessel Cheongboho capsized on the evening of the 4th at 11:19 PM in the waters 16.6 km west of Daebichi Island, Jaewon-ri, Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do. Of the 12 crew members on board, 3 were rescued, but 9 remain missing.
