[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Oh Young-soo (79), an actor from the Netflix series 'Squid Game,' will face his first trial on charges of sexual assault on the 3rd.
According to the legal community on the 3rd, the Criminal Division 6 of the Suwon District Court in Gyeonggi Province will hold the first hearing on Oh Young-soo's sexual assault charges that afternoon.

View original imagePreviously, Oh Young-soo was accused of inappropriate physical contact with a woman identified as A in 2017. The police received a complaint from A in December 2021 and initially decided not to prosecute, but following A's objection, the prosecution indicted Oh Young-soo without detention in November of last year.
Oh Young-soo is reported to have denied the charges, stating that "I only held her hand to guide her."

Oh Young-soo gained recognition for his role as Oh Il-nam in 'Squid Game,' which was released in September 2021. Subsequently, in January of last year, he became the first Korean actor to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV category at the American Golden Globe Awards.
