[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] The positivity rate among arrivals who underwent immediate testing at the airport after departing from China the previous day was found to be 2.4%.
On the 1st, according to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, 292 short-term foreign visitors who arrived at Incheon International Airport from China on the 31st of last month underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, with 7 confirmed positive cases. The positivity rate was 2.4%, higher than the previous day (0.9%, 3 positives out of 316 tested).
Since the 2nd, a total of 43,304 people have entered through the airport from China. The positivity rate among short-term visitors tested at the airport dropped by 0.2 percentage points from the previous day, reaching a cumulative 9.3% (757 positives out of 8,167 tested). The airport test positivity rate, which once exceeded 20%, has fallen below 10%, leading to observations that the COVID-19 outbreak situation in China is easing recently.
