Egg Carton Priced in the 5,400 Won Range... Emart Launches 'The Limited'
Emart Launches Price Stabilization Project
48 Items Including Eggs, Hetbahn, Thinly Sliced Samgyeopsal
Bulk Purchasing, Process Improvement... Up to 50% Price Reduction
Emart announced on the 31st that it will launch the project 'The Limited' from the 3rd of next month to stabilize customers' shopping basket prices in the era of high inflation. This project selects fresh, processed, and daily necessities quarterly and offers them at the lowest price levels.
The first batch includes a total of 48 products: 15 fresh foods, 27 processed foods, and 6 daily necessities. Emart explained that through bulk purchasing, distribution process improvements, advance contracts, and development of new production areas, the event products were planned at prices up to 50% cheaper than the regular prices. All products are exclusive to Emart and will maintain these prices until March 31. The second batch of products is scheduled to be introduced in April.
The 30-count pack of white eggs is priced at 5,480 won, which is 17% cheaper than the average selling price of 6,600 won for regular 30-count eggs. Emart stated that it conducted an exclusive direct contract with a partner company owning the hens that lay the white eggs and lowered the price by purchasing 60% of the partner company's total production volume.
The CJ Hetbahn Asan Clear Rice 10-pack special product is sold at about 25% discount compared to the regular price. The Our Neighborhood Tteokbokki Original & Cheese 4 servings (2 servings each) product reduced the price by 50% compared to before by cutting unnecessary packaging costs during production and improving production efficiency.
Emart prepared the Ottogi Snack Noodles 10-pack (box) at a price 35% cheaper per unit compared to the existing 5-pack bag product. Ottogi Snack Noodles were previously sold only in 5-pack products, but this time, by changing the package to a 10-pack product for the first time, logistics stacking and transportation were simplified, and the product can be easily displayed in stores as a box, improving product operation efficiency.
Emart sells the Manjeon Gim 30-pack (bag) product at about 30% cheaper prices compared to similar products. It was explained that in January and February last year, they lowered the price by pre-contracting about 100,000 bundles of raw seaweed with a partner company with 40 years of experience in seaweed production.
Wines are offered at prices cheaper than overseas local prices. The 'Persono Non Grata' imported from California, USA, is sold for less than 20,000 won per bottle, about 33% cheaper than the overseas local price of 24 dollars.
