"Effective Portfolio Expansion" OB Beer Expands Territory in the Home Market
Last Year, Beer Home Market Share Ranked 1st at 53.7%
OB Beer led the domestic beer market, which entered a recovery phase last year, and further increased its market share in the home market.
According to market research firm Nielsen Korea on the 24th, OB Beer recorded the highest home market share of 53.7% from January to November last year. In particular, its flagship product, 'Cass Fresh,' ranked first among all beer brands with a market share of 41.3%, up 2.8 percentage points from 2021.
OB Beer also ranked first in both manufacturer and brand categories in the non-alcoholic beverage market. According to Nielsen Korea's November home market sales data, OB Beer's non-alcoholic beverage products such as Cass 0.0, Budweiser Zero, and Hoegaarden Zero secured a manufacturer market share of 42.7%, leading the growing non-alcoholic market.
The growth of Cass 0.0 was particularly remarkable. Based on cumulative sales from January to November last year, Cass 0.0 grew by more than 55% compared to the same period the previous year. Since taking the top spot in the home market non-alcoholic beverage category in August last year, Cass 0.0 has maintained its leading position with a 32.7% share as of November, showing steady growth.
OB Beer's remarkable achievements in the domestic beer market last year appear to be the result of expanding its brand portfolio to match rapidly changing consumer trends and innovations aimed at consumer satisfaction. From Cass White, the first wheat beer introduced by the flagship brand Cass, to premium non-alcoholic beverages Hoegaarden Fruit Brew (Ros? and Pear), Hoegaarden Zero, Budweiser Zero, and the premium grain sparkling beer OMG, OB Beer introduced new beer products in new categories, revitalizing the domestic beer market.
