"If You Use Annual Leave Well This Year, You Can Take Up to 12 Days Off"
Interpark 'Triple' Announces 2023 Travel Calendar
Utilizing Chuseok, Gaecheonjeol, Hangulnal in September-October
Long-Distance Travel Also Possible
This year, by utilizing annual leave and public holidays, the longest period for taking an extended vacation and traveling long distances abroad is 12 days.
On the 20th, Triple, a travel platform operated by Interpark, released a calendar featuring the best months for travel this year and the optimal destinations for each period. Including holidays and substitute holidays, there are a total of 117 days off this year. The longest stretch of time off is from September to October. The Chuseok holiday starting on September 28, National Foundation Day (October 3), and Hangul Day (October 9) come together, allowing for a maximum 12-day vacation if annual leave is added. Triple recommended three destinations for this period: Munich, Germany, where the world-famous Oktoberfest beer festival is held; Toronto, Canada, where autumn foliage is at its peak; and New York, USA, which is full of attractions.
In May, which boasts mild weather, by effectively using the sandwich holiday between Labor Day (May 1) and Children’s Day (May 5), one can enjoy a 9-day vacation. Additionally, by adding two days of annual leave around the substitute holiday for Buddha’s Birthday (May 29) during May 27-29, a 5-day trip is possible. Early May travel suggestions include Sapporo, Japan; Hawaii, USA; Paris, France; and Dubrovnik, Croatia, while late May recommendations include Cebu, Philippines, and Osaka, Japan.
If annual leave can be used freely, taking two days off before and after Samiljeol (March 1) or during March 25-27, right after the Lunar New Year holiday, allows for planning a 9-day consecutive trip. Weeks where a single day of annual leave can enable a 3-night, 4-day vacation include the week of June 6 (Memorial Day), August 15 (Gwangbokjeol), and December 25 (Christmas).
