Short-term Stayers from China Positive Rate at 5.8%... Single Digits for Six Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] The positivity rate among arrivals from China who were tested immediately at the airport was found to be 5.8%.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 19th, out of 2,396 people who arrived at Incheon International Airport from China the previous day, 347 short-term foreign visitors underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing at the airport testing center, and 20 were confirmed positive. The positivity rate was 5.8%, slightly higher than the previous day's 4.3%.
Immediate COVID-19 testing upon entry for short-term visitors from China began on the 2nd, with the initial day showing a positivity rate in the 20% range. However, since the introduction of pre-entry testing on the 5th, the rate has been gradually decreasing. The airport test positivity rate has remained in the single digits for six consecutive days.

Since the 2nd, a total of 25,126 people have entered through airports from China. The cumulative positivity rate for short-term visitors tested at the airport stands at 12.7% (634 out of 4,978 people).
