Ulsan City Seeks Young Farmers to Lead Agricultural Innovation
Up to 1.1 Million KRW Monthly Support for 3 Years, 500 Million KRW Loan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City is putting effort into selecting young farmers who will lead agricultural innovation.
The city announced on the 19th that it is recruiting applicants for the 2023 Young Successor Farmer Farming Settlement Support Project until the 27th.
This project was established to create a virtuous cycle system that promotes the entry of young and talented individuals who will lead the future of rural areas into the agricultural sector.
Eligibility for application is for those aged 18 or older and under 40 (born between January 1, 1983, and December 31, 2005), with less than 3 years of independent farming experience (including those planning independent management), and young people whose income and assets are below a certain level.
If finally selected, a farming settlement support fund of up to 1.1 million KRW per month will be provided for up to 3 years. It will be supported via vouchers linked with successor agricultural management development funds (start-up funds, loans, up to 500 million KRW limit), farmland bank land leasing, and farming technology education.
Youth wishing to apply for the 2023 Young Successor Farmer Farming Settlement Support Project can submit their application by accessing the Agricultural and Forestry Project Information System by the 27th.
Ulsan City plans to review the application documents, hold an evaluation committee composed of external experts, conduct document evaluation (February), interview evaluation (March), and finalize the project recipients by the end of March.
Detailed information can be found on the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs website and the Agricultural, Forestry, Fisheries and Food Education and Culture Information Service website, and inquiries can also be made via the young farmer information hotline.
