Samsung Engineering Advances Large-Scale Gas Field Project in UAE
Joint Award of Project by UAE State-Owned Enterprises
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Samsung Engineering is participating in a mega gas field project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Samsung Engineering announced on the 17th that it received a letter of award from ADNOC, the UAE state-owned company, for the initial work (PCSA) of the 'Halail and Ghasha Gas Field Project Onshore Facilities.'
This project is being carried out as part of ADNOC's low-carbon growth strategy. The purpose is to develop the Halail gas field and Ghasha gas field in the northern Persian Gulf of the UAE, transport the natural gas drilled offshore to onshore, and produce high-purity gas. The project is located in the Manifa area, 250 km west of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Samsung Engineering will jointly perform some detailed design work, major long-lead equipment procurement, and overall EPC cost estimation for the final investment decision with France's Technip Energies and Italy's Tecnimont until July. Of the total contract amount of $80.7 million (approximately 100 billion KRW), Samsung Engineering's share is $27.2 million (approximately 34 billion KRW).
Samsung Engineering stated that this order has strengthened its partnership with ADNOC. Since first winning the Bourg OCU Project in 2007, Samsung Engineering has been involved in various projects with ADNOC. Samsung Engineering explained that its previous experience and infrastructure in ADNOC gas field projects contributed to this order.
