KOSHA Provides Safety and Health Training Aligned with Serious Accident Reduction Roadmap
National Education and Public Relations Department Heads Meeting to be Held on the 13th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director An Jong-joo) held the nationwide education and promotion department heads meeting on the 13th at 10 a.m. at the Daejeon Yeram Talent Education Center.
This meeting was organized to establish the direction for the 2023 education and promotion projects for proactive response related to the serious accident reduction roadmap announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
On this day, the heads of education and promotion departments from 30 frontline institutions nationwide gathered in one place to discuss the key focus areas and current issues for this year's project implementation.
The main discussed tasks included ▲expanding and strengthening field-centered education according to the serious accident reduction roadmap ▲establishing a field-centered prevention system linked to industrial accident prevention projects ▲strengthening regional education to build safety and health management systems for small-scale workplaces ▲enhancing development of accident prevention content tailored to generations and linked to industrial accident prevention projects.

View original imageThis year, emphasis was placed on reorganizing the curriculum for transitioning to a risk assessment-based ‘self-regulatory prevention system’.
Education will be promoted to establish safety and health management systems for small-scale workplaces in accordance with the expanded enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act. Additionally, region-specific customized education and field-centered education to prevent local fatal accidents will be expanded and strengthened.
The agency plans to comprehensively promote the reorganized education and promotion projects company-wide based on the results of this meeting.

Choi Sung-won, Director of Education and Promotion, said, “Safety and health education plays a very core role in the serious accident reduction roadmap,” and added, “Based on the results of the department heads responsible for nationwide education and promotion projects putting their heads together, we will actively promote this year’s projects to contribute to preventing fatal accidents.”
