The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate to their hometown or a desired local government, which uses the funds for residents' welfare, and donors receive tax benefits (full tax credit up to 100,000 KRW, 16.5% on the amount exceeding 100,000 KRW) and may receive thank-you gifts (such as local agricultural specialties) within 30% of the donation amount. This system has been in effect since January 1, 2023.
Hometown love donations can be made through the government-operated ‘Hometown Love e-Um’ website, and payments can also be made at all agricultural and livestock cooperatives and Nonghyup Bank branches nationwide.
Vice President Geum Dong-myeong said, “I ask for much interest in the Hometown Love Donation System so that I can contribute to the development of my hometown Yeongyang County and agriculture and rural areas.”
