Nexon Games to Develop Open-World RPG Using 'Dungeon & Fighter'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nexon Games announced on the 10th that it has signed an IP usage contract with Neople for game development utilizing the ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ intellectual property (IP).
‘Dungeon & Fighter’ is a PC action RPG developed by Neople and is one of Nexon’s flagship hit titles. Since its release in August 2005, it has become a steady seller with a global cumulative user count surpassing 850 million. In March last year, ‘Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’ was launched, continuing its success. Additionally, new titles based on the ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ IP such as ‘Project Overkill’ and ‘Project AK’ are under development, expanding the IP across various genres and platforms.
Through this contract, Nexon Games will officially begin developing new titles based on the ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ IP. The game Nexon Games plans to develop based on ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ is ‘Project DW,’ an open-world action RPG supporting multi-platform play on PC online, consoles, and mobile devices.
Park Yonghyun, CEO of Nexon Games, stated, “We will do our utmost to inherit the original world view and charm while incorporating the unique fun of an ‘open-world RPG.’ We will combine Nexon Games’ development capabilities and know-how, accumulated through developing various genres, to ensure the game gains attention in the global market.”
Nexon Games is currently developing new IPs targeting the global market across various genres, including the root shooter game ‘First Descendant,’ the TPS (third-person shooter) game ‘Veiled Expert,’ and the MMORTS ‘Godsome: Clash of God.’

Furthermore, Nexon is continuously expanding its genre and development scope by preparing a new lineup utilizing representative IPs of Nexon Company, such as ‘Project DX,’ which uses the IP of the open-world MMORPG ‘Durango: Wild Lands’ developed by Nexon, and ‘Project DW,’ an open-world action RPG based on Neople’s ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ IP.
