Gokseong-gun Supports 80% of Agricultural Machinery Comprehensive Insurance Subscription Fees

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it will support 80% of the subscription fee to encourage enrollment in comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance.

By subscribing to comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance, you can be covered for agricultural machinery damage, personal liability, property liability, personal injury, and special coverage for risks related to loaded agricultural products.

Any farmer engaged in farming aged between 15 and 87 can subscribe, and the subscription period is one year.

The eligible machinery includes cultivators, tractors, combines, riding cultivators, riding rice transplanters, SS sprayers, agricultural transport vehicles, aerial sprayers (including drones), wide-area sprayers, balers, agricultural loaders, and agricultural excavators.

According to a survey by the Rural Development Administration, damage accidents caused by agricultural machinery are most frequent with cultivators accounting for 35% of the total, followed by brush cutters and tractors.

68% of cultivator accidents were single-vehicle accidents involving overturning or tipping over, while 37% of tractor accidents involved collisions with operators.

When accidents are tallied by age group, elderly people aged 60 and over accounted for 8 out of 10 cases.

Accordingly, Gokseong-gun supports subscription fees to prepare for various risks that may occur during the movement and operation of agricultural machinery before the farming season begins.

Any resident with an address in Gokseong is automatically enrolled in the Gokseong Citizen Safety Insurance and can be covered for 14 types of incidents and disasters.

The county plans to guide all farming households owning eligible agricultural machinery to subscribe to comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance and will promote insurance enrollment in cooperation with local agricultural cooperatives.

Gokseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center (Director Han Sang-yong) said, “As the farming season approaches, road traffic is expected to increase for farming work. We hope you subscribe to comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance to prepare for safety accidents and minimize economic losses.”
