Short-form videos are a video format emerging as a major content consumption method among the MZ generation (born between the 1980s and 2000s), who are familiar with digital devices. These are short videos averaging 15-16 seconds and not exceeding 10 minutes. This contest was planned to promote night tourism specialized cities targeting the MZ generation, who are enthusiastic about short-form content.
Entries will be accepted until March 10. The contest targets 'Incheon City (International Attraction Type)' and 'Tongyeong City (Growth Support Type),' which were selected as the first domestic night tourism specialized cities in September last year. Participants can submit short-form videos capturing the beautiful night scenes of each city, either individually or as a team, with up to three videos per entrant.
The videos must feature at least one of the 'Top 10 Night Tourism Attractions' for each night tourism specialized city. For Incheon, these include ▲Songdo Central Park ▲Gaehangjang District ▲Wolmido ▲Incheon Culture & Arts Center Area ▲Soraepogu ▲Ara Waterway & Jeongseojin ▲Incheon Bridge ▲Cheongna Lake Park ▲Incheon International Airport ▲Subong Park. For Tongyeong, the attractions are ▲Gangguan Area ▲Dpirang Area ▲Seopirang Area ▲Saryangdo ▲Tongyeong Bridge ▲Chungmu Canal Bridge ▲Dara Port Area (including Dara Park) ▲Jukrim ▲Pyeongin Ilju Road ▲Tongjeyeong (Sebyeonggwan).
Submitted videos will be evaluated by experts considering overall factors such as theme suitability, originality, usability, popularity, and completeness.
The Korea Tourism Organization will select a total of six teams: one grand prize winner (2 million KRW), one excellence award winner (1 million KRW), and one merit award winner (750,000 KRW) in each category. Along with the prize money, winners will receive the Korea Tourism Organization President’s Award. The winning works will be used to promote night tourism on the Korea Tourism Organization’s official website, SNS, and other platforms.
