Chilling Horror to Beat Winter... Millie Releases 'Hwansang Seojeom' eBook
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomibeum Seo] The reading platform Millie’s Library announced on the 9th that it will release the audiobook "Hwansang Seojeom," which was loved by horror novel enthusiasts last summer, as an e-book.
Author Soseorim’s "Hwansang Seojeom" is an original audiobook content in which the owner of a secondhand bookstore tells visitors old Korean ghost stories. It was selected for the production support project by the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency (KPIPA) in 2021 and produced as an audiobook. The e-book will be released under the title "Hwansang Seojeom: Wishing You a Sleepless Night."
The e-book includes additional content not covered in the audiobook. It adds depth to details that were not revealed in the audiobook, such as who the bookstore owner with the charming voice and dreamy atmosphere is, and why they are waiting for customers at that bookstore.
Kim Taehyung, Head of Content Business Division at Millie’s Library, said, “Readers who love horror, mystery, and thriller genres prefer not only audiobooks that enhance vivid immersion but also e-books that allow them to carefully read the text and expand their imagination of the story,” adding, “We will strive to increase readers’ sensory satisfaction by discovering various content such as e-books, audiobooks, and chatbooks, so that more readers can encounter books.”
