Government Conducts 'Seol Daily Price Survey'... Targeting 33 Items
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Jun-hyung] The government will conduct a price survey in celebration of this year's Seol holiday.
The Statistics Korea announced that it will conduct a daily price survey for the Seol holiday for 10 days from the 9th to the 20th of this month. The goal of the survey is to provide basic data for the government's ongoing Seol livelihood stabilization measures, such as managing the supply and demand of seasonal goods.
The survey targets 33 items, including rice, beef, and samgyeopsal. The survey will be conducted through visits (interviews) and online surveys.
On the same day, Han Hoon, Commissioner of Statistics Korea, visited Shindosi Market located in Daejeon, Chungnam, and asked merchants for their cooperation in the survey. Commissioner Han said, "Statistics Korea is striving to provide accurate and prompt price statistics that serve as the foundation for price policies related to the stabilization of supply and demand of Seol seasonal goods," adding, "We will continue to do our best to produce statistical information that supports the government's evidence-based policies."
