Seongdong-gu Holds New Year's Meeting and Proclaims Future Vision for Leap Forward

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it will hold a New Year's greeting event at 2 PM on the 12th at Sowol Art Hall to welcome the Year of the Rabbit, Gye-myo year, for the first time in three years.
This New Year's greeting event will present Seongdong-gu's future vision together with about 1,000 local figures and residents. The event will begin at 1:30 PM with Mayor Jung Won-oh's New Year's reception for residents. Following this, the event will open with the beautiful melodies of the Seongdong-gu Dream Orchestra and the grand performance of the Seongdong-gu Choir, and it will be broadcast live on Seongdong-gu Office's YouTube channel.
The main program includes ▲Residents' New Year hope video letters ▲Mayor's New Year's address ▲Screening of the Smart Cultural City advancement video in sequence.
Mayor Jung Won-oh of Seongdong-gu will present the vision and key projects for 2023 in his New Year's address. Based on communication administration with residents, he plans to explain the operational direction for this year, including establishing plans for the four major leap and four core projects covering economy, administration, education, and culture, and promoting the designation of Seongdong-gu as a Smart Cultural City.
Next, a sweet congratulatory performance will be held by the winner of the 2022 Residents' Singing Contest Grand Prize, and finally, the Year of the Rabbit will be welcomed with a group performance by the Taekwondo troupe and a breaking performance symbolizing the washing away of last year's hardships.
Seongdong-gu plans to make the New Year's greeting event a turning point to prioritize three keywords: smart, inclusive, and culture, and to devote all efforts to realizing a ‘Smart Cultural City’ that adds culture to a smart inclusive city together with its residents.
