Sancheong-gun, Idea Contest to Find Population Vitality for Residents
Discovering Investment Projects for Regional Extinction Response Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it will hold a contest for ‘Population Vitality Ideas’ to discover investment projects for the local extinction response fund next year.
This contest was prepared to find investment projects that fit local conditions and meet residents' needs. The contest period is until the 31st, and anyone who is a resident of Sancheong-gun or a county official can participate.
The ideas should cover overall population policies that can serve as a medium for the county’s population vitality and all other related development fields. The contest evaluation will prioritize projects focused on living infrastructure that provides daily life services directly related to housing, transportation, welfare, medical care, culture, tourism, economy, education, and more.
Projects unrelated to labor costs, consumable expenses, cash support, or the creation of local living infrastructure, as well as ongoing existing projects, will be excluded from evaluation.

Sancheong-gun plans to award prizes after first and second round evaluations. Awards will be given according to categories such as Best, Excellent, Encouragement, and Effort, and some categories may not be selected if there are no suitable ideas.
Previously, Sancheong-gun received a B grade in the basic account evaluation of the local extinction response fund last year and this year. This corresponds to the top 15% among 89 local governments and secured a project budget of 16.8 billion KRW.

An official from the county said, “We are collecting ideas to communicate more actively with residents and implement projects that the residents truly want so that we can achieve better results in next year’s evaluation,” and added, “We hope for active participation and interest from the residents.”
