"Restoring Trust and Preparing for the Future" HDC Group Executive Personnel Changes and Organizational Restructuring

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] On the 5th, HDC Group will carry out the regular executive personnel appointments and organizational restructuring for 2023. A representative of HDC Group explained, "This personnel appointment and organizational restructuring focused on selecting leaders who can restore market trust amid business environment uncertainties, based on performance and capability, to drive dynamic changes and create new business opportunities."

First, HDC Hyundai Development Company will implement organizational restructuring to restore trust and strengthen future preparedness. They established the H1 Project Team to present a vision for HDC Group’s complex development projects and successfully carry out the Kwangwoon University Station area development project. Additionally, the A1 Promotion Team, directly under the president, was formed to ensure responsible construction of Hwajeong I-Park. Furthermore, to innovate organizational culture and work practices, the Corporate Culture Innovation Office was newly established, and to enhance design and research & development (R&D) capabilities, the Design Office was created. HDC Hyundai Development Company aims to strengthen quality and safety capabilities by thoroughly managing performance indicators of the Construction Headquarters and Chief Safety Officer (CSO) organization, and to enhance company-wide strategic planning capabilities in management and sales divisions to respond to rapidly changing environmental changes.

Moreover, HDC Group promoted Kim Hoe-eon of HDC Hyundai Development Company, Lee Seong-yong of Hotel HDC, and Jo Young-hwan of HDC Resort to vice presidents; Lee Heung-bok of Tongyeong Eco Power to executive director; and Cho Heung-bong of Seoul-Chuncheon Expressway and Kim Jeong-seop of Bukhang iBridge to deputy general managers. Additionally, Kim Hee-bang was appointed CEO of Real Estate 114, and Lee Jong-won was appointed CEO of Masan I-Port. These appointments, totaling 24 people, will take effect from January 9.

Newly appointed CEO Kim Hee-bang of Real Estate 114 joined HDC Hyundai Development Company in 1999 and has held positions such as HR Innovation Team Leader, Public Relations & Marketing Team Leader, and Future Innovation Office Head. Since 2020, he has been with HDC Labs (formerly HDC iControls), serving as Head of Management Innovation Office and, since 2022, as Head of the BM Innovation Headquarters. CEO Kim concurrently serves as Head of BM Innovation Headquarters at HDC Labs. Lee Jong-won, the new CEO of Masan I-Port, joined Hyundai Development Company in 2005 and has extensive experience in infrastructure project development and management, including Masan Port Development and Busan New Port Phase 2-4.
