[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the '2023 Stepping Stone Program' on January 28 at the Busan Multicultural Education Support Center for about 40 children from multicultural families preparing to enter elementary school and their parents.
The program aims to help children from multicultural families preparing to enter elementary school quickly adapt to school life through preparatory education and to enhance parents' effective child guidance capabilities.
The program for children includes ▲Getting to know the school ▲Experiencing a day in the life of an elementary student ▲Learning classroom etiquette.
Considering the characteristics of children from multicultural families born in Korea and those who entered the country mid-term or from foreign families, the classes will be divided and operated separately.
For parents, the program provides ▲Preparation for elementary school admission and guidance on Korean elementary school life ▲Methods of communication with the school and children ▲Korean culture experience training.
The Busan Multicultural Education Support Center will provide interpretation and translation services to participants on the day and distribute multilingual materials.
Those wishing to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from the 5th on the Busan Multicultural Education Support Center website. For more details, contact the Education Policy Division of the Metropolitan Office of Education.
