It explained that it has continuously requested to provide convenience for railway users in the province traveling to Suseo, and as a result of Governor Park Wan-su attending the Ministry of Land's Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam regional development cooperation meeting in December last year and making a request, the decision to operate in the second half of this year was secured.
Gyeongnam Province plans to continue consultations regarding the number of train operations and operating time slots following the Ministry of Land's decision to expand the operation of the Suseo-bound SRT.
Along with preparing for the operation of the Suseo-bound SRT, the province is also focusing on the Busan~Yangsan~Ulsan metropolitan railway and the Jinyeong~Ulsan Dongnam circular metropolitan railway projects.
The Busan~Yangsan~Ulsan metropolitan railway, which was reflected in the 4th National Railway Network Construction Plan as a new project and selected as a leading project for non-capital area metropolitan railways, completed its preliminary feasibility study in March this year, and the Dongnam circular metropolitan railway is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
For the Dongdaegu~Changwon~New Airport high-speed railway, Changwon Industrial Line, Jinhae New Port Line, Geoje~Gadeok New Airport Railway, and Jinju~Sacheon Aviation Industry Line, which were not included in the 4th National Railway Network Plan, the province plans to enhance project feasibility to have them included in the upcoming 5th plan.

The province will also speed up the promotion of Gadeokdo New Airport and complete the revision of laws to expand the surrounding development planned area from the current 10 km to 20 km to solve the shortage of developable land.
Efforts will be made to increase convenience in air routes, including revitalizing Sacheon Airport, expanding the Sacheon-Gimhae route, increasing flights on the Jeju route, and attracting new routes such as Sacheon~Ulleung, Baengnyeong, and Heuksan to prepare for island airports.
Early opening of the Hamyang~Ulsan expressway, completion within the year of national roads between Cheongdo~Miryang, Dong-eup~Hallim, the 2nd Anmin Tunnel, Gwikok~Haengam, and Uiryeong~Hapcheon counties, promotion of preliminary feasibility studies for the Gimhae~Miryang and Geoje~Tongyeong sections, and acceleration of the 2nd expressway construction will also be pursued.
