Gwangju Subway to Extend Operation on 31st for 'Song·New Year Citizen Festival'
Operation of a Total of 4 Trains Scheduled After Midnight
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Jo Ik-moon) announced on the 30th that it will extend train operations to accommodate citizens participating in the ‘Year-end and New Year Citizens Festival’ scheduled for the night of the 31st around the May 18 Democratic Plaza.
A total of four additional trains will operate after the regular service ends at midnight.
Based on Munhwa Jeondang Station, additional trains will run at 12:30 AM and 1:00 AM in both directions toward Sotae and Pyeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu.
On the morning of New Year's Day, the corporation will offer warm tea and souvenirs to customers using Sotae Station, and set up a ‘New Year Wish Board’ and photo zone at Sangmu Station to provide citizens with excitement and hope for the new year.
