[Courtesy Visit] Kim Hyun-gi, Chair of Seoul Metropolitan Council, Meets Kim Jong-gu, Newly Appointed Ambassador to Mongolia
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 29th, Kim Hyun-ki, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, held a meeting with Kim Jong-gu, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia, and expressed his commitment to actively promote exchange and cooperation with Mongolia at the local government level.
Kim Jong-gu, who paid a courtesy visit, previously served as a member of the 4th and 5th Seoul Metropolitan Council (June 1995 - June 2002).
Chairman Kim Hyun-ki said, “I am pleased and proud as the Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council that you served as a council member and have now been appointed as the Ambassador to Mongolia. The Seoul Metropolitan Council and Seoul City have established a sister city relationship with Ulaanbaatar at the local government level and are actively exchanging with each other. I expect the Ambassador to play a significant role going forward.”
The Seoul Metropolitan Council has maintained a sister city relationship with the Ulaanbaatar City Council since 1997, marking 25 years of exchange. Last month, five members of the Mongolian National Assembly, including Enkhtuvshin, Chairman of the Industrialization Policy Standing Committee, visited the Seoul Metropolitan Council to seek ways to enhance friendly cooperation between the cities.

Chairman Kim said, “Representative Unur Bolor, who visited with the delegation from the Mongolian National Assembly’s Industrialization Policy Standing Committee, officially invited the Seoul Metropolitan Council for continuous exchange,” adding, “I hope to see the Ambassador again in Mongolia next year.”
