Pukyong National University Wins Grand Prize at '2022 X-Corps+ Festival'

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Practical Problem Research Group of Pukyong National University recently won the grand prize at the '2022 X-Corps+ Festival' held at BEXCO in Busan.
The Elite Graphite team, belonging to Pukyong National University's Practical Problem Research Group, received the grand prize, the Minister of Science and ICT Award, at this competition, which featured 75 teams from 14 universities nationwide.
The Elite Graphite team included Ko Kyung-mok, a master's student in the Department of Smart Green Technology Convergence Engineering at Pukyong National University; Choi Soo-myung and Park Sung-woo, seniors in the Department of Nano Convergence Engineering; Hwang Min-ki, a junior; Min Soo-hong, a senior in the Department of Chemistry; and Kim Ji-oh from Pusan National University.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the X-Core Plus Council. It was conducted as a competition where students perform practical problem-solving research with industry experts and compete based on their achievements.
The student team from Pukyong National University's Practical Problem Research Group presented research results on "Development of Anode Materials for All-Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles with High Performance and Safety" at this competition.
In their research, they effectively removed the amorphous layer on the surface of commercially available graphite to propose a highly stable and high-output anode material development, which was evaluated as research that can contribute to the advancement of the electric vehicle industry.

Pukyong National University's Practical Problem Research Group achieved outstanding results with all five participating teams winning awards: the Elite Graphite team won the grand prize, the Graphy team won the silver prize, and the Hit Da Hit, C.A.D., and Auto Docking teams received encouragement awards.
