View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] TVs are no longer just appliances used in the living room. Samsung TVs are being used as gallery canvases with the participation of many artists.
On the 29th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will participate in the '2022 Union Art Fair x Blacklot part.2 ? HAPPY NEW UNION!' held for five days until the 2nd of next month, exhibiting artworks using 'The Frame.'
Now in its 7th year, this event is a 'direct artist marketplace' aimed at discovering emerging artists and pioneering the cultural and art market. The event, held at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, features 50 artists actively working in the domestic and international art scenes, exhibiting about 350 pieces.
Samsung Electronics will use four units of 'The Frame' to digitally exhibit works by artists Kim Hyunwoo, Jung Goyona, Cho Hyunseon, and Heo Bori. They will create 'The Frame Art Wall,' which displays 'The Frame' alongside various actual artworks. Thanks to the high technology of The Frame, customers can experience viewing the artworks with delicate detail as if they were real pieces.
The secret lies in the 'Matte Display' installed in The Frame. It works on the principle of dispersing light at various angles and directions. It reduces light reflection to allow comfortable viewing.
