Jangseong-gun 'Heavy Snow Warning' Issued... Additional 17.5cm Snowfall Expected

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Joh Han-gyu] A heavy snow warning was issued in Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam at 5 a.m. on the 23rd.

According to the county, as of 8 a.m., the average snowfall was 11.3 cm, and an additional 17.5 cm of snow is expected to fall by tomorrow morning.

This snowfall was concentrated in the northern part of Jangseong, with Bukha-myeon recording the highest snowfall at 26.5 cm.

Bukil and Bukimyeon also saw 18 cm of snow accumulation, while the central areas including Jangseong-eup, Hwangryong, and Donghwa-myeon received about 4.5 to 9 cm.

The county is focusing on snow removal operations by mobilizing all personnel and equipment.

Additionally, residents, volunteers, and public officials are working together to clear snow from town and village roads, with volunteers operating 159 privately owned tractors for rapid snow removal.

No reports of isolated villages or resident damages have been made within the Jangseong area.

A county official stated, “Since heavy snow is forecast until tomorrow morning, we will deploy the maximum available equipment and personnel to ensure residents' safety and smooth traffic.”
