Native Video Platform 'PandoraTV' to End Service Next Month After 18 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Domestic video streaming service 'PandoraTV' will close its doors in January next year. It has been 18 years since the service started.
According to the IT industry on the 18th, PandoraTV recently announced on its homepage that it will terminate the service.
The service termination date is January 31 at 24:00 next year, and access to the service will be unavailable from February 1. Videos available for download can be downloaded until the service termination date and time.
The company stated that customer data will be destroyed along with the termination of the service.
PandoraTV was the number one video platform in South Korea in terms of unique visitors (UV) until the emergence of YouTube. However, after YouTube launched its service in Korea in 2008 and gained popularity, PandoraTV went into decline.

PandoraTV said, "Due to various external environmental changes and years of continued profitability deterioration, we regret to announce the unfortunate news of service termination," and added, "We will do our best to minimize customer inconvenience until the service termination date."
