Gyeongbuk Yeongyang Election Commission Reports Incumbent Politician Receiving 115 Million Won to Prosecutors
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] On the 16th, the Yeongyang-gun Election Commission in Gyeongbuk reported current politician A, who illegally received 115 million won in political funds, and three others who gave or delivered the money, to the Yeongdeok Branch of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office on charges of violating the Political Funds Act.
The Yeongyang-gun Election Commission stated that A is suspected of illegally receiving 115 million won in election funds six times over the course of about a year from February last year to last February, either directly from B or through C, during golf meetings and meal gatherings.
A is also suspected of receiving office space free of charge from D.
An official from the Election Commission said, "We cannot disclose the specific identity of A who received the money, but we understand that A is a current politician engaged in political activities."

Article 45, Paragraph 1 of the Political Funds Act stipulates that anyone who donates or receives political funds by methods not prescribed in this law shall be punished by imprisonment for up to five years or a fine of up to 10 million won.
