Gyeonggi Province Explores 'Northern Gyeonggi Development and Tourism Strategy' Utilizing the DMZ
'DMZ Policy Forum' Held in Paju on the 20th
Experts Discuss DMZ Ecology and Peace Utilization Plans
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] To develop strategies for the development and tourism of northern Gyeonggi Province utilizing the ecological and peace resources of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), Gyeonggi Province will hold a DMZ policy forum at the Paju DMZ Ecotourism Support Center on the 20th.
According to the province on the 16th, the forum, divided into 'Ecology' and 'Peace' sessions, will explore ways to conserve biodiversity in the DMZ and promote sustainable development through ecotourism, as well as ways to utilize the peace, cultural, and historical values of the DMZ as growth engines for northern Gyeonggi.
The forum will include various ecological experts such as Kim Seung-ho, Director of the DMZ Ecology Research Institute, and Jang Gye-seon, Researcher at the National Arboretum, as well as Kim Seong-du, CEO of the Unification Hope Train, and Park Jun-sik, CEO of the Unification Village cultural and artistic space 'Tong'.
Seol Jong-jin, Director of the DMZ Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "At the DMZ policy forum, we plan to gather many opinions and utilize them when promoting ecological and peace tourism in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) for the development of northern Gyeonggi."
