Yeonggwang-gun Imposes and Notifies 11,536 Cases of 2nd Term Automobile Tax
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that as of December 1, it imposed 1.88 billion KRW in automobile tax on 11,536 cases for owners of registered automobiles, motorcycles, and construction machinery within the jurisdiction for the second installment.
The payment deadline is January 2 of next year, and payments can be made via account transfer or credit card using cash deposit/withdrawal machines at financial institutions nationwide. Payments can also be made without a tax notice using financial company applications, Wetax, Internet Giro, ARS, and other methods.
For those who have applied for automatic transfer, the payment will be automatically withdrawn on the due date, so it is essential to check the account balance of the automatic transfer account.
The county has been producing and sending magnifying glass tax notices since the second installment last year.
A magnifying glass tax notice is a local tax payment notice designed with the payable tax amount, payment deadline, and virtual account number placed in large letters at the center of the notice so that anyone can easily recognize it. It was created for elderly taxpayers in an accelerating aging society.
Additionally, as the mandatory display of voice conversion barcodes for the visually impaired on local tax payment notices has been legislated, the county prints voice conversion barcodes for the visually impaired to enhance payment convenience for visually impaired taxpayers.
The voice conversion barcode for the visually impaired can be conveniently used by installing the ‘VoiceEye’ app on a smartphone.
A county official stated, “If payment is not made by the deadline of January 2 next year, an additional 3% surcharge will be imposed, and a reminder notice will be sent, which may cause disadvantages. Therefore, we kindly ask that payments be made within the payment deadline.”
